Things my dad owns: Smittybilt X20 winch, a JL tailgate table and a JL interior lighting kit and some sort of aftermarket top. Things my dad does not own: a Jeep.

He’s slowly building this ridiculous pile of parts in his garage for the JL Rubicon Unlimited  that he has ordered, but as of yet, has not seen/driven or paid for.

I am super excited for him to bring his Jeep home. I am worried that it will increase my desire for a JK 2 door by 1000x.

Hopefully, if I continue to trend in the right direction at my new(ish) job, I can get a Jeep within the year... 2 years at most.

It does get a little crazy. I have 3 sets of doors and two tops, although admittedly my hard top has never been used since I removed it 4 years ago.

I totatally get why, but what I would want is something newer/lower mile because it would be my work vehicle and has tax implications.

If I was buying it for like long term/forever, I’d get a TJ with no hesitation.

I feel like I could buy a JK for a reasonable amount, try out the whole “jeep thing” and then turf it for little financial loss and get something better if I liked it.

Watch out for rusty frames on the TJs.

My first TJ had a frame made out of Swiss cheese.
